How to Make Your Own Watermark
Posted by photobootcamp on January 11, 2012
Watermarking and re-sizing are two ways in which you can protect your photos from theft on the internet. Today we are going to talk about watermarking. Watermarking copyrights your photos (makes it harder for others to print or copy them), brands your photos, and will also help with an increase in sales if you are a professsional. I have heard all kinds of stories from different photographers telling stories about clients using screen shots or even taken pictures with their digital camera of the image on the screen. Watermarking is an important and vital thing for you whether you are a hobbiest or a professional. It’s quite simple to create your own watermark. I’m going to show you how to make a watermark stamp in Photoshop. This will also work in Photoshop Elements. It just might look a little different. I explained this in screen shots so you can follow along as you create you oh so fabulous watermark!

Remember you can customize your brush. You can change the color, opacity, and size. To change the opacity you simply look at the top of the screen where it says “opacity” and bring it down a bit. This is if you don’t want such an obvious watermark. You can also select different colors in the color palette, by simply clicking on and selecting it, typing “x”, or using the dropper tool to select a color already in the picture. You can change the size of the brush by simply using the bracket keys ( [ makes it larger, ] makes it smaller).
I hope you have fun, and I can’t wait to see your new, wonderful watermark! Please contact us if you have any questions!
